HUMANISTIC subjects

The essential tool for a meaningful relationship with reality

Humanistic subjects

  • Using the Italian language in a conscious way

    Literary Subjects strengthen language education overall.
    The Knowledge of the most important writings of our cultural tradition and the systematic study of Grammar promote in students a conscious use of written and oral language and an interest in reading.

    Linguistic mastery is introduced to all students through:

    • a punctual and precise study of Grammar always starting from reflecting on the text and questioning the existing relationship between words, thoughts and reality;
    • the reading of literary texts, with special attention reserved to the Epic texts, poems and writings. This subject holds great lexical, syntactic and argumentative richness and it offers students a large point of comparison with personal experience;

    • the written tradition (themes, summaries, paraphrases, short reports);

    • the care of oral exposition (reading aloud, diction, intonation, articulate presentations of work, systematic questioning with particular attention to confrontation and discussion).
  • Knowledge of History and Geography

    The study of History and Geography, in addition to helping acquire a valuable study method, also allows an extraordinary openness to current events through meetings and dialogues with different personalities.
