The study of English, enhanced in all classes, is aimed at knowing and using the language in its current and real context.
The communicative method is used, with extensive space for reflection and for the in-depth study of vocabulary and grammatical structures also thanks to the constant use of the Linguistic Laboratory.
The objective at the end of the three years is to help the students reach the A2 level (established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) in the 4 skills: reading, writing, comprehension, oral exposition.
During the morning curricular activities, all the students are prepared to take the Language Certification exam prepared by the University of Cambridge: KET (Key English Test) and PET (Preliminary English Test). 99% of the students successfully pass the test.
As part of the Personalised Learning Program, it is possible to choose English Language Enhancement, where modules of History, Science, Geography and Literature are conducted in English (CLIL).
The school takes part in the national competition organized by Diesse Florence which requires interdisciplinary work: some form of work must be submitted in English in an artistic form on a different topic each year.
Each year, the school offers a two-week summer school period in Ireland or Great Britain.
The teachers accompanying the students personally take care of the academic and extracurricular activities during the entire periods of their stay.
The Developing Speaking Laboratory (optional, not included in the tuition) takes place in the afternoon and the teachers are native speakers. The objective is to practice spoken English as much as possible.
