Informatics is often mistaken for technology.
One has to do with the other, but Informatics is a discipline with its own and unique characteristics.
In Italian the word “informatica” which means “Informatics”, features the word “informazione” which means “information”.
This means that its automatic processing and the constant search for how to translate human reasoning into a finite sequence of instructions are the main activities of this discipline.
The two weekly hours dedicated to this subject are thus an opportunity to learn and practice a new way of thinking both in the classroom and in the laboratory.
Guided by a professor, the students are able to enter the world of Informatics which is made up of questions, dialogues, courage, patience and many attempts (more or less successful).
Students will find out that this subject is so much more than just learning a new technique. It means analyzing oneself in the act of reasoning, learning about reality through a particular key in an attempt to solve problems that stimulate creativity and logic. This is what awaits those who want to embark on this fascinating journey.
