Often, Informatics is confused with technology. They are related to one another, but Informatics is a science with its own unique characteristics. Information (“Informatics” derives its name from “Information”), and the ability to automatically elaborate and the constant research into how to translate human logic into a sequence of finite instructions are the principal activities of this discipline.
These two hours a week are, therefore, an occasion to learn a new way of thinking, both in class and in the laboratory. Following the teacher’s lead, students enter the world of informatics, which is made up of questions, dialogues, courage, patience, and trial and error (sometimes successful). What students discover is that this subject is very different from learning a technique: analyzing themselves in the act of reasoning, understanding reality through the lens of problem solving and stimulating creativity as well as logic is what awaits those who decide to undertake this fascinating journey.
The Laboratory STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) has the objective of creating a learning environment where creativity is encouraged. It is organized in modular workshops where the students are invited to research, experiment, and build solutions to concrete problems by working in close contact with the business and research world.
Technology, Informatics and Design are essential tools with which students can come face to face with the main themes of contemporary life (Mechatronics-Robotics-Automation, Digital and BigData, Sustainability, Bioscience).
The Laboratory takes place in the afternoon with a weekly two hour lesson from October to April together with two experts: a teacher with the necessary credentials and a specialized tutor.
FIRST TWO YEARS – Technology-coding-making; 3D Models (fusion); Challenges and talks with professionals
LAST THREE YEARS – Working on projects developed together with our partners who are renowned in the region, such as Ducati, Faac, Bonfiglioli Group, MC Architects, I-Consulting with a focus on Design; Mechatronics; Big data/informatics
