Computer Science – In the I year of the Scientific High School one separate hour a week is dedicated to this subject, while in the other years computer science is included in the Mathematics curriculum. In the Applied Sciences High School computer science is its own subject.

Physics focuses on observing natural phenomena and building models using the language of mathematics.
All the Physics teachers have a university degree in this subject and they constantly use the laboratory, including the Galilean machines.
Throughout the final three years of school students visit external laboratories, such as Physics in Moto at Ducati, CERN in Geneva and Old Quantum Physics at Fondazione Golinelli.
The study of the Natural Sciences – Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Astronomy – is included in the curriculum from the first year.
The continuous and systematic use of the laboratories allows for a gradual acquisition of the research method typical of these subjects.
Accompanying their work in the traditional laboratory activities, students can have innovative and qualifying experiences, such as internships with Practical Science at Opificio Golinelli, completed during their third and fifth year.
The laboratory is a special place where students are taught to ask questions, explore reality and verify their hypotheses using computer science tools.
There are two reasons to use the laboratory: to observe a phenomenon that one does not know in order to research and formulate hypotheses, and to verify through experimentation the validity of a theory. In both cases, these moments are essential in the acquisition of scientific knowledge. In the laboratory students, working in a team, learn how to describe nature in a qualitative and quantitative way, measuring size and researching relationships between their subjects.
